Clear, concise writing in government should be like a good book: it has a gripping beginning, a solid middle and an ending you won’t forget Learn some tips on how to write government documents with a few lessons from “Dick and Jane,” William Shakespeare and Stephen King.
Kathryn Sosbe is a public affairs specialist and web content editor in the Office of Communication, U.S. Forest Service, the largest agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She has a nearly 30-year daily newspaper background, writing, assigning and editing stories at newspapers in Colorado, Florida and Idaho. She also has worked as an advocate for the Deaf and hard of hearing in the Philadelphia area, leading the charge for people's rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act. She is currently an instructor with PLAIN.
Please bring government ID and arrive early so you can be screened through Security. There is no easy path to the conference room, so if everyone can be there and screened by 1:55 that would be more than helpful.
