|Monthly PLAIN Meeting - March 8, 2015|
Virtual onlyTime: 2-3 p.m.
March 8, 2017 (We really mean 2017 - the heading is stuck on 2015.
For this meeting, we’ll hear from the Director of Georgetown University’s Writing Center, David Lipscomb. David will walk us through an exercise he uses to get professionals to define the purpose of a writing project — from the reader’s perspective.
In the exercise, called the ART, you physically draw your reader at the moment she finishes reading your content. Once you picture (literally) the response you want, you then design, draft and edit your content to get that response. He’s taken hundreds of professionals through this exercise at dozens of top companies, nonprofits and agencies. One Fortune 500 company now asks its communications agencies to complete an ART for every assignment. So join us and try it for yourselves.
